01/25 - In this LiveLesson we reviewed the perfect squares, 1^2 = 1 to 16^2 = 256. We then used this to graph the quadratic parent function, y = x^2 in a Desmos table. Then we graphed y = x^2 and explored changing the formula with y = x^2 + a, y = (x - a)^2, and y = ax^2. We then created a flapping bird by using the animate feature in Desmos.
02/01 - In this LiveLesson we reviewed what a quadratic function is. We discussed briefly how to graph quadratic functions. We then practiced solving by guess and check, by undoing, and by graphing. We demonstrated that you could solve any quadratic equation by graphing in Desmos.
02/08 - In this LiveLesson we learned how to solve quadratic equations by graphing in Desmos and by factoring and using the Zero Product Property.
02/15 - In this LiveLesson we learned to solve a quadratic equation by completing the square. We checked our work by graphing in Desmos. We also learned how to write an exact answer instead of an approximating with a calculator.
02/22 - In this LiveLesson we learned to solve a system of a quadratic equation and a linear equation by graphing and by substitution. We also learned to use the Quadratic Formula.
03/01 - In this LiveLesson we solved x^2 + 7x + 10 = 0 by graphing, factoring, quadratic formula, and completing the square. We then solve the question, if the length is 4 less than the width and the area is 100 ft^2, find the length and width of the rectangle.
03/08 - In this LiveLesson we learned to simplify radical expressions by factoring and removing pairs of factors.
03/15 - In this LiveLesson we learned to add, subtract, multiply and divide radical expressions.
05/03 - In this LiveLesson we learned to add rational expressions. We started with a fraction addition problem and then expanded it to add two rational expressions.
05/10 - In this LiveLesson we compared direct variation to inverse variation. We learned to identify both. Then we learned to solve for the missing number in an inverse variation.
05/17 - In this LiveLesson we did questions 1, 2 and 3 from the Unit 4 Sample Work, in preparation for the semester exam.
